At Wander Beyond we are maturing a diverse range of barrel aged beers and this bottling is no exception. Whilst tasting our range of barrel aged breakfast stouts we enjoyed a distinctive ex-speyside whisky barrel oozing with finesse. It provided characteristics of light cherries, stewed fruits and a spirit character reminiscent of the finest Speyside single malts. Despite the high alcohol content, the base stout has a much lighter flavour profile compared with other barrels, and was a perfect beer to infuse with freshly ground hazelnuts.
